Watercolor Artist Judy Findley
Judy Findley, a watercolor artist from Corvallis, Oregon, has studied graphic arts, and has studied intensively through classes and workshops in watercolor and drawing. Some of her fondest memories are of two painting/sketching trips through France, in the Dordogne Valley, Provence and Burgundy. She is a recent member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, has been a member of the Corvallis Art Guild since 1972, and is a long-time member of the Oregon Watercolor Society, Vistas and Vineyards Plein Air painting group and founding member of the Mid-Willamette Valley Critique Group. Awards and honors include paintings juried into WSO and Art About Agriculture shows. The Oregon Women for Agriculture Purchase Award painting, "Bird's Eye View of Agriculture" is featured in "This Bountiful Place, Art About Agriculture The Permanent Collection". She has numerous paintings in private collections throughout the country.
Of her artwork, Judy says:
"As an artist, I tend to focus on "unexpected" beauty. I look for the way light plays across surfaces, reflects color or highlights something lovely in the ordinary. In the summertime here in the northwest, I paint outdoors in the vineyards, flower fields or on riverbanks. When on location, I often reflect on the privilege I enjoy of working in such a lovely setting, having humming birds buzz my palette, or having butterflies or bees investigate my work.
